Permanent and Natural Hair with the FUE Method

Hair Transplantation

Hair transplantation is a micro-surgical procedure performed in a hospital setting. It involves placing grafts taken from the donor area into areas with hair loss. Hair transplantation is a successful treatment method for individuals experiencing hair loss. This method can be effectively applied in both completely bald areas and areas with partial hair loss. It also addresses problems such as scar tissue resulting from burns and injuries. It is particularly effective and provides long-lasting results for men experiencing male pattern hair loss.

Techniques Used in Hair Transplantation

There are several techniques for hair transplantation:

  • Classic FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction)
  • Sapphire FUE (FUE with Sapphire Tips)
  • DHI (Direct Hair Implantation)

Classic FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction)

The most advanced technique used for hair transplantation is Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE). The key feature of this method is that it leaves minimal scars and provides rapid healing. Compared to traditional hair transplantation techniques, the methods used today are much more advanced. The process begins with local anesthesia to numb the donor area, and then tissue samples (grafts) containing single, double, triple, or quadruple hair roots are extracted using a micromotor device. This procedure takes about 3-4 hours. The grafts are kept in a liquid called HypoSol at room temperature to prevent the hair roots from dying. The hair roots can remain viable for up to 6 hours in HypoSol.

The area where hair will be transplanted is numbed with local anesthesia, and channels are opened at a depth of 3-4 mm to reach the appropriate depth for the hair roots. The collected roots are then implanted into these channels. This procedure also takes about 3-4 hours. After the hair transplantation is completed, the donor area is covered with a dressing, and the procedure ends. Typically, it takes about 12-18 months to see the full results.

Sapphire FUE (FUE with Sapphire Tips)

Sapphire FUE is a hair transplantation method that uses special tools with sapphire tips made from a precious mineral. Compared to the metal equipment used in traditional methods, it creates smaller micro-channels, resulting in minimal scabbing. The swelling observed after the application is also less. Additionally, due to the small size of the channels opened for the transplant, the healing process is faster. Another advantage is that it allows for denser planting compared to the metal slit method. As a result, a more natural appearance is achieved.

DHI (Direct Hair Implantation)

Direct Hair Implantation (DHI) is a newer procedure compared to FUE. The DHI technique, like FUE, leaves no scars after the procedure and provides a natural appearance. However, in this method, hair roots are extracted one by one using a specialized tool with a diameter of 1 mm or smaller. The hair roots are then placed in an implant device called the Choi Implanter Pen, allowing for direct implantation into the recipient area. The creation of channels and implantation is performed simultaneously during the DHI procedure. The Choi Implanter Pen provides greater precision during the implantation of hair roots, making it easier to control the angle, direction, and depth of the newly implanted hair. The healing time is similar to the FUE method, but the procedure takes longer compared to FUE.

Eyebrow Transplantation

Eyebrow transplantation can be used to correct damaged structures due to injuries, scarring, or incorrect eyebrow plucking in individuals with thin eyebrow structures. It is suitable for both men and women, and local anesthesia is used during the procedure. Using the FUE technique, grafts are taken from the donor area, and channels are opened in the area where implantation is planned. The procedure takes about 3-4 hours, and patients can immediately return to their normal daily activities after the procedure.

Mustache and Beard Transplantation

Beard structure varies from person to person and is determined by genetic factors. However, in some cases, hair loss in the beard area can occur due to genetic factors, scars, injuries, and burns. In such cases, beard transplantation can be performed using the FUE method. The procedure for beard transplantation is similar to that of eyebrow and hair transplantation. Local anesthesia is used during the procedure, and hair roots are extracted one by one using the FUE technique, channels are opened in the area where transplantation is planned, and the hair roots are placed. The procedure duration is approximately 3-5 hours and is quite comfortable for patients.
